Israeli report: Hamas rockets can hit targets north of Tel Aviv

Israel's Yediot Ahronot newspaper reported on Tuesday that Hamas has carried out in the last few days a series of tests for an advanced "Fajr" rocket. Its range can reach 80 kilometers. According to the report, this means Hamas will start within several months to start the production phase in the Gaza Strip. The new rocket can hit targets north of Tel Aviv. 

The newspaper said that the progress achieved by Hamas in the missile production field during the last decade is of great concern the  Israeli leadership. According to Yediot Ahrono, when Hamas strted to produce Qassam rocket some ten years ago, its range did not exceed 1.5 kilometers.
