Jumblatt: Fight with Israel still in early stages

The leader of the Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblatt on Thursday said the conflict with Israel is still in its beginning, which "requires vigilance". According to him, Israel just wants to promote internal strifes in Lebanon at any cost. He made these comments following Tuesday's armed clashed in Beirut's Borj Abi Haidar quarter.

Jumblatt called on Thursday to support the army and security forces in order to play their part in protecting peace and internal stability. The Druze leader also urged political powers to maintain "balanced and moderate rhetoric during this critical stage."
