King Abdullah of Jordan received on Tuesday a telephone call from the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that focused on challenges facing the peace process. The call came as a follow up to a letter conveyed to the monarch by Israeli Minister of Social Affairs Isaac Herzog.
During the conversation the king said: "The region is going through a critical stage that requires intensive efforts to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict according to the two-state solution, which constitutes the only way for regional peace."
He added that "realizing rights of peoples in the region to live in peace and security requires creating a suitable environment for the direct Palestinian-Israeli talks through ending all unilateral acts, mainly settlement activities."
"All peoples in the region will pay the price of failure in the peace process, the King said, stressing that the future of the region and its coming generations will depend on today's decisions."
