Manchester United On Alert As Edinson Cavani Admits PSG Future Still Unclear

Chelsea and Manchester United transfer target Edinson Cavani has stated that he will be holding talks with PSG at the end of the season in order to decide his future. Cavani came out to the media just before the Champions League quarter-finals and stated that he was not happy with his role at the club. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been the preferred striker since his move from AC Milan a few years ago. Despite coming to PSG for around £60 million, Cavani has been played out of position due to the presence of Ibrahimovic.

At 27 years of age, the Uruguayan is at the peak of his powers. It is not surprising that Manchester United have joined the list of Chelsea and Manchester City as his admirers. After managing to win the league title and the French Cup this season, Cavani has stated that he would discuss his future after the end of the campaign. According to Sky Sports, he said:

"My first season in France has been beautiful, despite all controversies around me. Will I stay at PSG next season? I will surely talk with the chairman, and with the club.

"If I have important things to say, I will do it in-house. I believe we will all do our best for things to go off smoothly."

PSG chairman Nasser al-Khelaifi stated a few days ago that Cavani was not for sale at any price. However, it is thought that the French outfit will be happy to sell him at around the £60 million mark following the latest developments in the UEFA FFP regulations. PSG are one of the big clubs to have failed to meet the FFP criteria. Since they have failed in a big way, the club are expected to be hit with a hefty fine and several restrictions.

One of the restrictions will prevent them from spending more than £ 60 million on a player, while their wage bill should also not exceed the current level. PSG, now, will be able to make a new signing only by the sale of a player and this could be Cavani.
