The US administration on Monday said it was "disappointed" that Israel had ended a 10 month ban on settlement construction, but added it remained focused on long term objectives in the peace process. Special Middle East envoy George Mitchell is flying to the region to sort with parties about where to go from here, State Department spokesman Philip J. Crowley told reporters.
"We are disappointed but we remain focused on our long-term objective and we will be talking to the parties about the implications of the Israeli decision," conveyed Crowley. "We recognize given the decision yesterday that we still have a dilemma to resolve," he said.
