The U.S. administration has deployed unmanned Predator drones in Yemen to hunt for Al-Qaeda activists, The Washington Post reported Sunday. The report said the American army and intelligence bodies have not fired missiles from these aircraft because they lack solid intelligence on the whereabouts of al Qaeda fighters.

American officials said the Predators have been patrolling the skies over Yemen for several months in search of leaders and operatives of Al-Qaeda, the The Washington Post said. After a series of attacks by Yemeni forces and US cruise missiles earlier this year, however, Yemeni Al-Qaeda leaders "went to ground," The Post quoted a senior Obama administration official as saying.
