Dr. Asim Azam, Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital , on Sunday denied reports about the death of ousted president Hosni Mubarak. Over the weekend widespread rumors claimed that former leader died in the hospital.
Dr. Azam said that Mubarak is still alive and in stable condition for the past days. According to him, the former leader did not suffer any serious health crises in recent days and described is condition as "stable."
Sources at the hospital have calmed that the halt of anti-Mubarak demonstrations in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh reflected positively on Mubarak's health and psychological condition.
Meanwhile, an Egyptian court ruled on Saturday to suspend a previous verdict to remove the name of Mubarak and his wife Suzanne from public institutions and places, Reuters reported. A court has ruled in April that the name of Mubarak will be removed from all public institutions. But some Egyptian lawyers have filed a lawsuit asking for the verdict to be abolished.
