Saudi king recovers after operation in NY

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah is in good situation and was walking shortly after undergoing an operation last week, the kingdom's powerful Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz was quoted as saying by local newspapers on Sunday. Nayef, the king's half-brother considered No. 3 in the Saudi hirarchy , said the 86-year-old monarch was walking "outside" his New York city hospital on his own feet after his operation Wednesday for a herniated disc.

The king had the operation in New York Presbyterian Hospital. Speaking to Okaz daily, Nayef added that the news about the recovery of the king are like "another holiday" for the Saudis.
