At least eight passengers in a minibus on Thursday died when their vehicle was struck by an explosion in southeast Turkey. The minibus was traveling in Hakkari province, on the border with Iraq and Iran, when the blast took place.

Three people were also wounded.

According to Turkish reports, officials said the explosion was caused by a land mine planted by fighters from the Kurdistan's Workers Party (PKK).
