BenQ, an internationally-renowned provider of digital lifestyle innovations, showed its support of the Middle East education sector as Gold Sponsor of Global EdTech Forum 2011 held in association with Getex 2011.

Getex 2011, which took place recently at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, brought together over 200 exhibitors from the education industry and was accompanied by a series of discussion forums, workshops, seminars and conferences. The education sector is an important market for BenQ, which has introduced innovative projectors to the Middle East market designed to make classroom learning more fun and interactive for students.

Manish Bakshi, General Manager of BenQ for the Middle East and Africa, said; “BenQ is delighted to be the Gold Sponsor of Global Edtech Forum 2011. The forum places a great emphasis on sharing new ideas and innovative technology aimed at revolutionizing the education process in the region which is a key priority area for BenQ’s projector technology. BenQ is the Global No. 1 DLP Projector brand in the market and we are already leading the region’s education segment as the top projector brand in the Asia Pacific education market, with a 17.7% market share and we are striving to continue this success.”

BenQ carried out live demonstrations of the MP780ST and MX880UST projectors during the show, where delegates could see first hand the short throw capabilities, which eliminate the problems of shadows on the screen and users being blinded by the projector light. BenQ also showcased the MP780ST’s innovative PointDraw technology which enables students to actively participate in the classroom using an interactive pen that allows them to point and draw on any projected surface.

“We are seeing a continual move towards digital education as both students and teachers see the benefits of increased interactivity in the classroom and BenQ is committed to providing technology solutions to support the education sector,” Bakshi concluded.

The BenQ Group and its companies operate in over 30 countries globally, with a workforce of over 120,000.
