Milestone year as IBQ Communicators Awards hits its 6th edition

As it enters its sixth edition to date, the IBQ Communicators Awards keeps gathering momentum with over 80 contestants battling it out this year for the coveted titles during a Grand Finale in November 2011 at the Ramada Hotel.
Sixty of Qatar's best speakers will showcase their communications skills for the International Category during the pre-qualifying rounds in October while twenty will seek to win a spot amongst the top 6 contestants for the Humorous Category.
The IBQ Communicator Awards is organised by the ICC-ONE Toastmasters Club under the patronage of IBQ to encourage and promote communication and leadership skills in the local community. The Awards are open to all residents aged 18 years old. The IBQ Communicators Awards is now considered to be one of the major calendar events garnering strong local and international interest. A cheque presentation ceremony was held at IBQ headquarters to mark the occasion.
George Nasra, Managing Director of IBQ said: “This is a significant milestone for both IBQ and the ICC-ONE Toastmasters as we enter our 6th consecutive edition of the highly acclaimed Communicators Awards and celebrate simultaneously the highest participation to date. This is a strong testament to the success of this initiative and the serious efforts committed to see it growing year on year. IBQ is engaged in a long-term partnership with the ICC-ONE Toastmasters as we share the same belief in the importance of communications and leadership skills in both business and personal development."
"As a leading bank in Qatar, IBQ is pro-actively focused on spearheading and spreading long-term educational and awareness programmes for the welfare of the community and with a particular interest in young people. We are determined to partner with governmental and non-governmental entities to see the implementation of educational, cultural and awareness programmes that share common objectives geared towards the community we operate in. We value the importance of communication and leadership which is why we continue to support this programme. This reflects our concerns, and desire to see leadership thrive all around us." Nasra added.
M.I. Farid, Founder President of the ICC-ONE Toastmasters said: "We're very happy to see the IBQ Communicators Awards moving successfully into its sixth year. This could not have happened without the serious commitment of our long-term partner, IBQ, and the breadth and innovation behind our annual programme which has encouraged an increasing number of participants to take part year on year. The IBQ Communicators Awards have helped build a very beneficial platform for dialogue and communications and has played the role of a launch-pad for Qatar's next generation of confident leaders."
