Minister of Economy leads high-level delegation to Australia

His Excellency Sultan Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy will lead a high-level delegation on a four-day official visit to Australia. The delegation will have wide-ranging discussions with senior government officials, businessmen and investors in Australia on bilateral trade and investments.

Al Mansoori said described the visit as  a major step forward to furthering economic, trade and investment relations between the UAE and Australia.

“The UAE Economy today has the strength and capabilities to compete and excel on the global stage. We have plans to expand the UAE’s economic relations with countries all over the world. By adopting prudent economic policies, offering an ideal investment environment and lowering dependency on oil resources, the UAE has been able to attract huge investments from across the world,” Al Mansoori said.

The UAE delegation will have a very busy schedule in Australia, meeting officials from various sectors and the Ministry for Resources and Energy, Ministry for Tourism, and Ministry for Industry and Investment of the New South Wales Government; Ministry for Infrastructure and Transport as well as Ministry for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency; the Australian Technology and the Australian Solar Institute.

The discussions will focus on innovation and investment opportunities specifically in agribusiness/food, clean technologies, water management, renewable energy, financial services, aviation and advanced manufacturing, and transport and tourism infrastructure.

Both sides will discuss ways to increase bilateral trade, which has already grown by 37% to reach seven billion dirhams between 2004 and 2009.
