The Municipal System implements best practice policies to work faster, smarter, and better

20 municipal employees are learning how to improve customer service by making their jobs faster, simpler, and better through a cross-municipal business process re-engineering (BPR) training session as part of the municipal system's commitment to implement best practice policies, procedures and methodologies.

The training session, took place in Al Ain from December 19 to December 23, and was attend by representatives from Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain Municipality, and the Western region Municipality.

The municipal system is implementing the BPR project to review, redesign, document workflow and processes currently being used across both the DMA and the three Municipalities. BPR has been used to make leading governments around the world more efficient, and effective.

The BPR session focused on briefing the Municipal system employees and providing them with an update on the project's current goals and objectives. The session also focused on clarifying the recent BPR in use standards and procedures, and provided an in-depth understanding on the processes and work instructions.

This session will help the DMA and the three municipalities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi improve customer service, which will make things easier for everyone living, working, and investing in the Emirate according to H.E. Dr. Abdullah Ghareeb Al Bloushi: "Our journey to a simpler, faster, better working life should be informative and even fun, so this session is part of many activities to help and support our employees to provide better municipal services."

H.E. Al Bloushi added: "The DMA was formed to enhance the quality of living for everyone in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The session also highlighted the importance of the municipal system employees and how their contribution to the BPR project is crucial to Abu Dhabi becoming one of world's top five governments. The attendees where reminded how it is essential that decisions are based on accurate inputs and analytical data, of which must be presented in logical, comprehensive and standardised reports and summaries.
