Lebanese singer Dolly Shaheen has stated that she sang in the Algerian dialect in her latest album because the Algerian accent is the secret of her success and behind her fame. She added that she had begun her singing career by singing Algerian Ray music.
According to internet website MBC.net, Dolly denied rumors that she is jealous of Lebanese singers Haifa Wahbi, Nancy Ajram and Elissa, stressing that none of these singers are better than her and just as they are talented and have fans, so does she.
The singer stated that her music style is different from Nancy, Haifa and Elissa, and she makes it a point to carefully choose her songs in order to be unique. She added that she holds great respect for the three and their achievements, but never for a moment did she wish to be like them or sing the songs they sung.
