A number of Egyptian singers have begun recording new songs about the current Egyptian revolution and the condition of the country its people.

Mass popular protests against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak since 25 January may usher in a new leadership in Cairo.

Some of the songs support the revolution and protesters, while others support Mubarak and his regime.  Among the singers who recorded new songs are Mohammad Muneer and Ehab Tawfiq.

Muneer said that he recorded the song before traveling from Egypt to Germany.

“It was as if I had a feeling that something will happen in Egypt,” said Muneer, who was accused of hiding from the events taking place in Egypt after his departure.

According to the internet website MBC.net, Ehab has recorded a new song titled “Yala Nirja’ Kulna Masryeen” (Lets all return as Egyptians) to be released in the coming days. The song, written by Wael Gharyani and composed by Ashraf Salem is in support of Husni Mubarak.
