‘Nines’ from Mobily for Majed Abdullah’s fans
 
Fans attending soccer giant Majed Abdullah’s honorary match Tuesday will get free vanity numbers from Mobily, according to a statement issued by Etihad Etisalat.
Majed Abdullah's number when he played for Al Nasr Club up until the early 1990s was number nine (9).
The vanity numbers will feature triple “9s” (056*999***, 056999****, 056****999, 056**999**). Nines in honor of Majed Abdullah, now in his later forties.'
Mobily, the official and exclusive sponsor for the Majed Abdullah festival, presented the outgoing soccer star with 99,999 free minutes, a vanity number featuring five nines and variety of gifts presented Sunday night.
During the festival, the Spanish side Real Madrid will play against Majed Abdullah’s home team, the Riyadh-based Al Nasr Club. Majed Abdullah himself is expected to play during the match.
The match itself will be played at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh. Fans not able to get tickets to the stadium can watch the match on their mobile phones using Mobily’s innovative Mobile TV service on (Mobily 3lhawa). Customers subscribed to the SAR 50 mobile TV package will not be charged extra for the match.
 
Majed Abdullah, made his regional soccer debut in 1977 in the Tabriz Tournament in Iran. There he scored 7 goals in 3 matches – 2 against Iran, 2 against Bulgaria, 3 against Russia. He was the tournament's top scorer.
The following year, he played in a senior’s team against Portuguese giants Benfica, where he scored 2 goals in his first ever international match at the age of 18. From there on, Majed Abdullah represented the Saudi national team for 16 years. He retired in the 1990s after an injury.
