Every year the association of the “The Leading Hotels of the World” honours the best luxury hotels in the world with the “Commitment to Quality Award”. At the congress in New Delhi this year, the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin was chosen as the best hotel in Europe. With more than 430 members in 80 countries, “The Leading Hotels of the World” is the largest association of luxury hotels, resorts and spas.
Ms. Heike Murad, Manager GCC states, “Germany has a variety of flavours to position itself as one of the best holiday destinations to visit in Europe. The Hotel Adlon Kempinski, apart from winning an honorary quality award to showcase its standard of being one of the best luxury hotels in the world, is also an exciting opportunity to discover German hospitality, warmth and the culture of Berlin. At present, the number of Arab families and expatriates travelling to Germany is increasing steadily and our latest figures are able to prove this trend. From January – September 2005, we have seen a growth of 30.6 % as compared to last year. The total number of over night stays is 551,705 up until September 2005. It’s important for us to communicate hospitality, city tourism, shopping tourism, events, anniversaries, holiday packages for tourists to enjoy Germany as their second home.”
The hotels are tested all over the world, usually anonymously, taking a catalogue of 1,500 criteria into consideration – one of the most comprehensive in the industry. The best result in Europe was achieved by the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin this year, as recognised by the “Commitment to Quality Award”. The assessment includes a complete review, from the room furnishings, the work of the housekeepers, the quality of telephone reservations and the response of the service staff to special wishes, right through to the facilities available in the spa area. The Hotel Adlon at the Brandenburg Gate was particularly recognised for its superb service and exceptional quality standards.
“Recognition of good service is always a direct tribute to all of the employees, and I am very proud to be the manager of such an excellent team,” says Thomas Klippstein, Hotel Director. “Awards are always a huge commitment, too, of course, and a challenge that we are very happy to meet.”
