“Amman Is the Most Beautiful” Project in Different Areas in Amman

“Amman Is the Most Beautiful” project draws the delight and joy on the children faces through its activities in various regions of the city of Amman.

The project that was launched by the Cultural Department in the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM)is a series of open workshops designed for children aged 12 to 16 years and held in gardens that follow the Directorates, the number of which amounts to 20 gardens distributed in  different regions of GAM.

According to the Executive Director of the Cultural Department, Mr. Samer Khair, the project was launched on the 8th of March in (Al-Rayah Al-Hashemyah) “The Hashemite Flag” in the Sports City, with the aim of enhancing the positive values of the social behavior of children in particular, dealing with the vocabulary of the surrounding environment and activating the role of the parks and libraries among the local community. This, in itself, contributes to raising awareness among individuals, noting that the Directorate has prepared a cultural agenda for the month of April, full of various cultural activities, workshops, lectures and training courses. 

Head of the Team Operating the Cultural Parks, and Coordinator of the Project, Laura Al-Hadeed, said that the workshop “Amman Is the Most Beautiful” contributes to motivating the children through funny and entertaining ways to maintain the environment with all its components, pointing to the involvement of the community and environmental police in extending awareness lectures about the environment, hygiene, and interaction.

The workshop also contains a variety of events, including reading awareness stories, face painting, and training school students on the handicrafts captured from the raw materials of the environment with the objective of reproducing them for aesthetic and utility purposes. 

It also includes a drawing competition in which children express their grasp of the environment for a most beautiful Amman, and their perspective for a bright future and a clean city for them and for the future generations.
 
Participating in the various workshops were students from Um Al-Amad Primary co-education School in Um Al-Amad Park in Al-Jiza region. Also students from Al-Mwaggar Primary School for boys, and and Al-Mwaggar for Girls in the workshops that were held in Al-Mwaggar region.

It is worth noting that many students benefited from  the various activities: (Al-Raed Al-Arabi) the Arab Leader School students also benefited from participating in the event that was held in Al-Hasan Park in Al-Qweismeh region, Al-Hasan Bin Al-Haitham School students in the event in Bab Al-Wad in Basman region, Jawa Secondary School for Girls in the event in Mu’ta Park in Khreibet Al-Souq region, Abu Nsair Housing School students in the event in Princess Salma Park, and Al-Ashrafiah School Students\ UNRWA in Al-Basha’er Library in Al-Yarmouk region, in addition to Al-Fikr Al-Tarbawi (educational thought) School students in Al-Yasameen Library in Bader region.
