ALBAWABA- In a recent interview with the Associated Press, the Commander of the US Fifth Fleet expressed grave concerns over the increasing threat posed by Houthi attacks on shipping in the region. 

Describing these attacks as the most dangerous in two decades, the commander highlighted the severity of the situation.

The commander did not mince words in pointing out Iran's direct involvement in supporting the Houthi rebels. He disclosed that Iran not only funds the Houthi militia but also provides them with essential resources and training.

 This revelation underscores the depth of Iran's role in the ongoing maritime security challenges.

Furthermore, the Commander of the US Fifth Fleet emphasized that the attacks on shipping vessels in the Middle East have reached a level of severity not witnessed since the tanker war of the last century.
