10 Pilgrims Die in Pakistan Bus Collision

Ten pilgrims were killed and 40 others injured Friday in a head-on collision in the southern Pakistani town of Sehwan Sharif, state television reported. 

Police said a bus from Hyderabad carrying pilgrims to the shrine of Muslim saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, rammed another passenger bus coming from Sadiqabad in southern Sindh province. 

Nine people died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries later, hospital officials said. 

Several of the injured were in serious condition, they said.  

Road accidents have claimed nearly 90 lives in Pakistan since last week -- ISLAMABAD (AFP)
