100 Palestinian Wounded in Violent Confrontations with Israeli Troops Monday

Violent clashes between the Palestinians and the Israeli forces continued in the West Bank and Gaza on Monday, resulting in the injury of more than 100 Palestinians, three seriously, according to Palestinian security sources. 

Meanwhile, a number of houses were damaged completely or partially when the Israeli tanks bombarded the city of Gaza, which witnessed the most violent confrontations on Monday, resulting in 45 injuries; one of them was life threatening when Alaa Jaru received a bullet in the head. 

Eyewitnesses confirmed to Albawaba.com that Israeli artillery shelled Rafah in Gaza strip causing considerable damage to a number of houses. 

In Ramallah, confrontations were still raging until very late Monday evening at the northern entrance, leaving behind 14 Palestinian injured. The Israeli forces used rubber-coated bullets and tear gas bombs to disperse demonstrations in Hebron, Nablus, and Jenin. 

In Tulkarem, a Palestinian youth, Baha’a Abu Baker, was shot in the abdomen, while nine were injured.  

Jewish settlers in Nablus opened fire on Palestinian demonstrators, seriously injuring Hassan Ahmad Suleiman in the chest. 

Meanwhile in Arroub refugee camp near Hebron, Israeli soldiers shot at a crowd of Palestinians taking part in the funeral of a martyr. Nine were wounded in the incident.
