Colourful pavilions and new attractions draw massive crowds

Global Village, a member of Tatweer and the premier entertainment destination in the region, witnessed unprecedented visitor numbers on the first day of Eid Al Adha as more than 100,000 people thronged the venue to celebrate the festive occasion. Colourful pavilions, heritage shows, and family entertainment activities throughout the vast site kept crowds occupied till late hours into the night.

Visitors to the celebrated destination were treated to a fireworks extravaganza in addition to the music of traditional bands resonating across Global Village. Special performances such as the ‘Ayallah’ of the UAE, the Omani national band, the Caribbean band, the Spanish Flamingo Show and the Mexican Meryachi Show were among the top crowd pullers during the evening.

A walkabout show with popular characters from the animated cartoon ‘Shaa’beyat Al Kartoon’ mesmerized crowds in addition to ‘Shaheen the Magician’ show. The 40 fun fair rides in the venue were packed and the world’s first Guinness World Records pavilion witnessed huge crowds throughout. The participation of characters from The Little Big Club such as Barney TM and Bob the Builder TM delighted the thousands of children who had gathered with their families.

Global Village is open at 4pm in the afternoon until midnight except on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays when it is extended until 1am in the morning. Mondays are allotted for families only. Tickets to the venue are priced at AED 10 each.
