11 government offices convene to study managing change, leading projects
100 employees of Abu Dhabi government complete special university course, hosted by General Secretariat
The General Secretariat of the Executive Council has concluded the George Washington University-accredited Leadership and Change Management seminar today. The programme ran from September 2-11, 2007 at the Emirates Palace. One hundred delegates from across the government studied change management methodologies as well as practical aspects of leading projects and communications.
“This course is the first of many opportunities for emerging leaders within our government to continue their education,” said Mohamed Hamad Azzan Al Mazrouei, Director General of the Western Region Development Council (WRDC). “As the government restructures, we are asking people to think and act in new ways - ways that may be unfamiliar and challenging. It’s important to prepare them accordingly.”
Seven representatives from the newly-formed Western Region Municipality completed the course, where they were able to exchange experiences with colleagues from other municipalities and participate in daily management exercises.
