Thirteen Palestinians were injured and at least five were detained during a predawn raid Monday carried out by Israeli forces in the Ramallah-area al-Amari refugee camp in the central occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported the injuries as light and said the injured were transferred to the Palestine Medical Center in Ramallah for treatment. The nature of the injuries remained unknown

Israeli forces raided the refugee camp in large numbers, causing clashes to erupt with local youth. Sources added that soldiers prevented ambulances from entering the refugee camp during the raid.

Forces were carrying out the large scale raid in search of those responsible for dropping a marble slab on an Israeli soldier last week, resulting in the soldier’s death.

Several houses in the refugee camp were reportedly turned into military outposts by soldiers, while one building was demolished and by an Israeli bulldozer.
