A gang of fourteen Afghans, armed to the teeth, swooped down on a gas station in the central Iranian city of Isfahan on Monday and stole some 31 million rials ($3,875) in cash, a source said.
"The Afghans tied up the servicemen in the gas station and stole 31 million rials in cash as well as a cellphone," the source told the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
He added that the robbers had fired no shots.
Police have launched an extensive investigation into the case.
