Fourteen children died and 10 other people were wounded, some seriously, when a Sudanese Catholic Church vehicle hit a landmine in Sudan, the Rome-based missionary news agency Misna reported Saturday.
The incident happened Tuesday near Dellami, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) east of Dilling, the agency said, but was only reported by church officials in northern Sudan Saturday.
The driver and a seminarian were among the injured.
The agency said the device exploded when the vehicle of Dilling parish priest Youhanna Alarmin was advancing slowly, followed by a group of children – (AFP).
