ALBAWABA- In a series of Israeli airstrikes, 15 people, including four children, were killed and 16 injured in Qudsaya and Mazzeh near Damascus, with the death toll expected to rise.
According to local sources, the attacks targeted buildings reportedly used by the Islamic Jihad movement.
The Israeli military confirmed it struck what it identified as "military buildings and headquarters" associated with Islamic Jihad, even publishing footage of the airstrikes.
Local reports suggest these Israeli raids are no longer solely focused on Iranian military facilities but now include broader targets in Damascus.
Coinciding with these attacks, Iran’s national security advisor, Ali Larijani, arrived in Damascus to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and other top Syrian officials, adding to the heightened regional tension.
Less than 24 hours later, a series of Israeli airstrikes targeted locations across the Homs countryside, including Shinshar, Al-Daf Bridge, Al-Qusayr, and the Al-Dabaa checkpoint.
In one strike, the Israeli forces hit a bridge in the village of Al-Jubaniyeh near Al-Qusayr. Local sources confirmed that a checkpoint of the Fourth Division of Syrian regime forces was also struck.
