At least 16 people, including four women, were killed and 22 others injured Friday when a passenger bus rammed into a stationary oil tanker 50 kilometers (25 miles) east of here, police said.
"Ten people were killed on the spot and five more died on their way to hospital," police officer Yameen Khan said.
Another died later in hospital, he said.
Police said about 50 passengers were on the bus, which was coming to this southern city from Larkana district in Sindh province. The accident occurred near Nooriabad town.
Two-year-old boy Majeed Ahmed and six of his family members were among the dead.
Witnesses said Edhi Welfare Trust ambulawnces shifted the bodies and injured to different hospitals in Karachi and Hyderabad. Hospital sources said four of the injured were in serious conditions -- KARACHI (AFP)
