Twenty three women are running for seats at the Omani Shura council, according to the ministry of interior, cited by the Emirati paper Khaleej Times.
Elections to Oman's 82-member parliament will be held on September 14. Ballots will be open from 7 a.m in 59 provinces, or wilayats, where 175,000 voters, both men and women aged 21 years and above, are eligible to vote, said the paper.
According to Oman’s electoral law, wilayats with a population over 30,000 can elect two representatives – Albawaba.com
