Somehow Jack Bauer has managed to stay alive (just) until season six of the award-winning television drama 24. He was on a boat with nothing but chloroform and a gag for company when series five ended and now he's back in action.

Day 6 sees Jack released from a Chinese prison, only to be handed over to Abu Fayed for retribution. Fayed has struck a deal with the US Government to hand them Assad's whereabouts in exchange for Jack, who Fayed blames for his brother's death in custody.
At every step there is deception. Who can be trusted? Is Fayed the sort of man the government can rely on to keep his word? And after all Jack has done for his country, is it right his life should be offered up for the greater good? And is taking out Assad really CTU's priority?
If there's anything we know about Jack though, it's that he doesn’t die easily. A man of few words and considerable action, not even impossible situations are beyond him. You know he'll escape, but still be in ever-present danger for a whole day without sleep or food.
