424 Demands for Investment in Yemen

The Yemeni government received 424 foreign investment requests during the first quarter of the current year, ArabicNews.com reported, quoting head of the general organization for the Yemeni free zones, Derham Noaman, who added that the capital expected to be invested in the projects reaches $404 million. 

The official said that projects would provide 10,000 new work opportunities. 

The free zone in Eden received 748 demands from local, Arab and foreign companies for establishing projects whose value exceed 1.5 billion US dollars since year 1991 till end of last March, the agency said. 

Moaman was quoted as saying that work will begin soon on preparing the basic structure of the first stage of an industrial zone and will be implemented by the Singaporean company G.T.S at a cost of 2 million dollars to be completed in November, according to the agency – Albawaba.com
