ALBAWABA - According to medical sources reported by Al Jazeera, Israeli bombings killed at least 51 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, the first day of Eid al-Fitr.  Numerous locations were targeted by the assaults, including northern districts like Jabalia and southern Gaza's Khan Younis.

Six individuals, including women and children, were slain in Al-Mawasi, where displaced families had sought refuge, according to Al Jazeera.  A drone strike in the Khan Younis refugee camp killed two people and injured ten more.  There were also reports of two children killed by artillery fire in Jabalia and four more dead in the Al-Tuffah district of Gaza City.

The Israeli military said that it had carried out dozens of assaults and advanced into Rafah's Al-Janina area as part of its ground operation in southern Gaza.  The army further said that in order to target Hamas infrastructure, its actions were coordinated with the Shin Bet security agency.

Although there were no confirmed casualties, the Israeli publication Yedioth Ahronoth reported an explosion close to an Israeli tank in Khan Younis.  The event happened as tensions in the south increased and ground operations proceeded.

Additionally, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was informed of future intentions to step up military operations in Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.  This occurs while worldwide condemnation of Israel's conduct in the enclave is intensifying.

Israel started their operation against Gaza on October 7, 2023, and the ongoing escalation comes after months of deadly fighting.  International observers have accused the attack of war crimes and ethnic cleansing, while Al Jazeera and other humanitarian groups have said that the attack has caused devastating civilian fatalities.
