75 New Regional and Multinational Companies Join

Dubai Knowledge Village in 2009

Dubai: 28 April, 2010 – Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV), the region's premier destination for human resources management and a member of TECOM Investments, today announced 75 new regional and multinational companies joined the cluster in 2009.

The cluster also registered positive growth in most of the areas during the year with the biggest growth experienced in the human resources development and training segments.

Some of the major companies that set up operations at the human resources cluster include Jamboree Education Middle East FZ-LLC, an assessment and testing company; London Centre For Human Resources Management, an executive education centre; the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), a professional non-profit association; Prometric FZ-LLC, a testing centre; the International Institute For Learning Middle East FZ-LLC, a human resource training and development centre, and Gallup Middle East FZ-LLC, a HR consultancy.

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Managing Director of Education Cluster - TECOM Investments, said: “The human resources management cluster has experienced growth at a time when the global and regional economy was witnessing a slowdown. This trend underlines the demand from the workforce to move towards training and further education for upgrading their skills.

“Growth in the human resources and training sector is still anticipated to increase looking at the demand from the market, which has resulted from expansions and structural changes in most organisations.”

Gallup, the internationally renowned management research and consulting firm, announced the move of its regional office to Dubai Knowledge Village in early 2009.

Ben Buitendag, Chief Principal for Gallup in MEA, said: “As the regional economy continues to mature, it has become imperative for organizations to better understand the needs of their employees and customers. Knowledge means power and gaining vital information about the stakeholders’ perception of a company, product or service can enormously serve to propel an organization forward in its expansion drive.”

Dubai Knowledge Village is home to over 400 professional centres specialized in HR development, professional testing, as well as management training and consultancy services.

Launched in 2003, Dubai Knowledge Village aims to consolidate the status of the emirate as a global destination for human resource management and learning excellence. It is a unique hub that offers the right investment opportunities in human capital empowerment, skills development and enhancement.
