8,500 out of 18,106 applicants from Tunisia will this season fulfill their Hajj commandment.
Fifty-two percent of the 8,500 pilgrims are male and 48 per cent are female, Al Sahafa daily reported quoting the Religious Affairs Minister, Jaloul al Garibi. The average age is 65 years and seven months. The rate of those over age of 60 is nearly 67 per cent. The oldest pilgrim, from Qabali district, is 95 and five months. The youngest from al Muntasar district is 18 years and 7 months.
The Hajj costs TD1.4 million, which covers residence, transportation and the Service Company. Air travel costs TD760,800 and the Hajj grant for each pilgrim stands at TD662.
