Murphy stars as bumbling scientist Sherman Klump in this sequel to the 1996 hit comedy. His Jekyll-Hyde alter ego Buddy Love returns despite Klump’s attempts to genetically re-engineer him out of existence. Klump finds himself in a battle with his other half to protect the secret formula to his youth tonic and to save his engagement to a lovely colleague singer Janet Jackson.
The movie also stars Larry Miller and John Ales.
This movie, which was last weeks number one is directed by Peter Segal and produced by Brian Grazer.
The screenplay was written by Barry W. Blaustein, David Sheffield, Paul Weitz and Chris Weitz. It was released by Universal.
Rated PG-13 for crude humor and sex-related material, the movie runs 1 hour and 45 minutes.
This week, its 6th, the movie grossed $3,800,000, giving it a total of $115,000,000.
