Abahsian Signs MOU With Chongqing Polycomb International Corp
Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain Company soars into new frontiers and expands into the Gulf market by launching a new glass fiber plant in Bahrain. The Bahrani plant that is expected to produce 200,000 tons of glass fiber per year is a materialization of Abahsian’s agreement with a Chinese firm, Chongqing Polycomb International Corporation (CPIC).
(CPIC) is a leader in the Chinese glass industry and has extensive expertise in the production of glass fiber, which has motivated Abahsain to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the firm to collaborate in constructing a new glass fiber factory in Bahrain.
The Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain Company is excited with the prospect of
teaming up with the Chinese firm in setting up the Bahrani plant. Mr. S.K.
Maqsood, director of S & A Abahsain explained, “Our partnership with (CPIC) is a huge leap for us because it will enable us to satisfy the increasing consumer need for glass fiber in the Middle East that is caused by the construction boom that we are witnessing.” He went on to say, “We are sure that this collaboration will help the company to fulfill its goals and grow at a faster pace.”

Mr. Abdullah Abahsain, President & CEO of S & A Abahsain group of companies adds, “I am sure that our joint venture with (CPIC) to construct the Bahrani firm will facilitate our development to leading the glass fiber sector in the GCC countries.” He concludes, “Our plans include setting in place a furnace that will start by producing 30.000 of glass fiber in 2008, progress to produce 120.000 tons by 2010, and reach our goal of producing 200.000 tons in 2012.”
