Following a welcome by Mr. Naji Jreijiri, Company President, ABB Industries (LLC), His Excellency Mr. Obaid Al Tayer presented to an oversubscribed guest list of more than 270 industry personnel gathered for the ABB Conference held at the Burj Al Arab on June 13, 2006. Mr. Jreijiri highlighted ABB’s 62% growth in the region in 2005 and forecasted another record year for 2006 as customers and channel partners gathered to share the latest technologies and innovation in power generation.
Guests also participated in a series of workshops presented by ABB experts from Europe. Mr. Al Tayer presented his remarks as Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry as he commented on the booming economy and special initiatives in development and underway to help continue Dubai’s development and ensure its long term future as a world class city.
Workshop topics included: Drives and Motors – HVAC Applications, Advancement in LV Power & Controls Solutions, Instrumentation for Water and Oil & Gas Applications, LV Intelligent Switchgear for Industries & Utilities, Power Technologies Solutions and Integrated Fieldbus Control Systems. Representatives from The Emirates Green Building Council and the Le Reve Tower also presented at the conference, as well as ABB experts from Intelligent Building Control, Cement Industry and Business Development – Substation.
Due to high customer demand, a similar event is being planned for September.
