ALBAWABA- The Palestinian Authority has unveiled its new Cabinet amidst growing international pressure to enact reforms. Notably, none of the incoming ministers are widely recognized figures.

President Mahmoud Abbas, who has steered the Palestinian Authority for nearly twenty years, issued a presidential decree on Thursday, officially introducing the new government.

Mohammad Mustafa was appointed prime minister earlier this month by Abbas. Mustafa, an independent economist educated in the United States, has pledged to establish a technocratic administration and establish an independent fund to aid in Gaza's reconstruction. He will also assume the role of foreign minister.

Ziad Hab al-Rih, a member of Abbas' secular Fatah movement, retains his position as Interior Minister, a role he held in the previous government.

The Interior Ministry oversees security forces. Ashraf al-Awar, the incoming minister for Jerusalem affairs, ran as a Fatah candidate in the postponed 2021 elections.

Of the 23 incoming ministers, at least five are from Gaza, though their current whereabouts remain uncertain.
