Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd has announced that with GITEX 2006 falling later than usual this year it is looking forward to a strong finish in Q4 which could help realise one of the company’s strongest year-on-year growth rates in recent memory.
“Acer has been taking part in GITEX for many years due to the high levels of business that is generated either leading up to, during or soon after the exhibition,” said Philip Ashkar, Director of Sales and Marketing, Acer.
“With this year’s exhibition taking place at the end of the year, we expect that the deals and sales that come from it will help produce one of Acer Middle East’s best growth record for a number of years,” added Ashkar.
Acer’s phenomenal growth over the last six years creates its own self-imposed, rigorous challenges in order to sustain the consistently high growth rates.
With desktops and notebook growth at 70.8 percent after Q2 2006, Acer is clearly happy to continue to demonstrate that it is not only consolidating its position as a top three player in the Middle East region, but is equally registering aggressive growth vis a vis both the market and competitor growth.
Traditionally renowned for PCs, Acer has more recently been branching out into more diverse product lines which are also witnessing excellent growth across the LCD TV’s, LCD Monitors, digital cameras and DVD lines. This is also coupled with the tremendous growth being realised in the latest ‘convergence technologies’ that are rapidly becoming a global phenomenon – both for the office and home.
“GITEX’s success is that it plays an important part in forging and cementing strong relationships with regional and international partners, while clearly also acting as an excellent platform to display our latest product lines – some of which we will be announcing at or around the event itself,” said Ashkar.
“Key to Acer’s participation at GITEX 2006 is that we demonstrate and maintain our leadership in the regional market place going into 2007, and continue to penetrate the Corporate Business sector over the next 12-18 months – this is where we will be looking to maximise our impact at this year’s exhibition,” concludes Ashkar.
