Fifty winning customers of Abu Dhabi Co-operative Society (ADCOOPS) walked away with free Umrah packages including free airline tickets to Makkah and AED 2000 in cash to support their Umrah trips.  The raffles were drawn on Tuesday night at the ADCOOPS outlet at Mina Center in Abu Dhabi in an atmosphere of Ramadan festivity and excitement.

One of the winners of the raffle draw, Nabih Abdul Rahim Al Ayoub, a Syrian nationa, expressed his joy: “I feel great as I have won this Umrah package at the most appropriate time. I believe my Ramadan spirit has brought me the luck which will enable me to perform one of the most sacred rituals of the Holy season. I am very grateful to ADCOOPS for thinking up this excellent promotion which is so right for our community during Ramadan.”

Another winner, Zakir Hussein, an Indian national who has been living in Abu Dhabi for 12 years, said: “I was actually planning to go for Umrah, thanks to ADCOOPS I am now certainly going. I intend to fly to Saudi within the next two weeks and hope to spend the last days of Ramadan in this most sacred part of the world.”

The winners included people from several Arab countries, India and Pakistan.

Faisal Al Arshi, Deputy General Manager of ADCOOPS, said: “Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year, and it is indeed the time of giving, blessings and piety. ADCOOPS is extremely happy to give back to the community and enable 50 of our customers to perform their Umrah ritual.”

In the run-up to Ramadan, ADCOOPS has been running the promotion in all its branches for 50 free Umrah airline tickets and AED 2,000 cash as pocket money for the Umrah trip.  Every AED 100 purchase entitled the shopper to participate in a raffle which was drawn on September 18. The raffle began on September 6 and ended on September 15.

For the whole month of Ramadan, ADCOOPS is giving away 1,000 Iftar meals at selected mosques in the capital at Iftar time every day.

ADCOOPS is also offering over 600 high-quality Ramadan-special products, some of which are being sold for less than the cost price by leveraging the outlets' retail bulk. “Our main priority this season is to give excellent prices without compromising quality. We aim to make Ramadan a complete experience for everyone,” concluded Al Arshi.
