Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has announced that its Managing Director, H.E. Ahmad Humaid Al Mazrouie, is to participate in the seminar sessions at the UFI Open Seminar in the Middle East, a three-day forum organised by UFI, the global association of the exhibition industry, that opens tomorrow (Wednesday, April 16, 2008) in Amman, Jordan. In addition to participating in the Seminar as a panellist, H. E. Al Mazrouie, who is also Vice President of the International Federation of Exhibitions, a member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Federation of the Middle East and Africa, will chair the UFI MEA Chapter meeting to be held tomorrow.
Paul Vincent, Marketing Director of ADNEC – UFI’s platinum sponsor - will also be participating as the event’s moderator and will introduce the world renowned industry experts as they share their thoughts with the audience. ADNEC will be presenting the new Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre to an audience comprising members from the world’s leading tradeshow organisers and owners, as well as the major associations of the exhibition industry and its partners.
Ahmad Al Mazrouie said: “The Middle East is one of the fastest growing MICE destinations in the world, with major exhibition centres planned or under construction in many cities throughout the region. Conferences and other initiatives are very useful to streamline the growth of this industry in terms of networking, benchmarking and attracting international exhibitors and visitors to future events held in the Arab World.”
In November 2006, Al Mazrouie became one of the first Arab Nationals to obtain a high-level position within the UFI Middle Eastern Chapter. He is currently UFI Vice President and a Member of the association’s Executive Committee.
UFI is an international, non-profit association, with global membership exceeding 500 exhibition organizers, owners and managers of exhibition centres, national and international associations and partners of the industry. For more than 80 years, UFI has been organising seminars and conferences on topics related to exhibition industry issues; with the objective of representing the interests of its members and the global exhibition industry. The association predicts that global exhibition space will expand by 3.5 million square metres between 2007 and 2010.
Paul Vincent concluded: “ADNEC strongly believes in events such as this as we feel that they provide an effective networking platform where professionals from the exhibition industry can exchange ideas and experiences. Our participation at UFI Open Seminar in the Middle East is also only weeks after we participated in the UFI Open Seminar in Asia, which was held in Macao, China; as well as several other events in Australia and Europe.”
