Abu Dhabi University (ADU) held its first meeting of the ADU's Alumni Board of Directors headed by Ahmed Bin Shabeeb Al Dhaheri, the Alumni President in the attendance of Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, the ADU's Chancellor.
Dr. Nabil Ibrahim welcomed the members of the Alumni Board and stressed ADU commitment to its Alumni and to maintaining strong communication channels with them. "We are proud of the achievements of our Alumni and their impressive contribution to economic development and prosperity in UAE and the MENA region"
"Abu Dhabi University is keen on remaining connected with its Alumni and considers them an important asset bridging ADU education with job market and nation building and enabling University to achieve its mission." Dr. Nabil added during his speech. Abu Dhabi University together with its Alumni Association work closely on a number of programs that advance ADU strategic goals while serving the interests of its Alumni members and keeping them connecting with events and exciting opportunities at ADU. The Alumni Association also provides graduates with job opportunities and offers them discounts in many stores, restaurants and hotels.
It's to be mentioned that the announcement of establishing the ADU's Alumni Association was in February 2010 on the occasion of graduates first reunion held in ADU's campus in Abu Dhabi .H.E. First Deputy of the federal Council Ahmed Bin Shabeeb Al Dhaheri , was appointed as the Alumni's president and participated in the selection of ADU Alumni Board members.
This was the first meeting of the Alumni's Board during this current academic year where the board discussed the future plan of the association and its working strategy. The board announced the beginning of forming special committees for different tasks and duties.
H.E. Ahmed Al Dhaheri, expressed his pleasure in serving the university's graduates and working towards the success of the Association in achieving its missions.
"The service of the Alumni Association is a service that we first of all offer for ourselves as graduates and for the university, students and the community in general. We will work continuously in the Alumni Association to communicate with graduates and get them involved in our activities and we will be their voice at the university. We will present our graduates to the community in a way that reflects the university's excellence and theirs as well serving the society by volunteering in different activities. This meeting is our commencement towards working hard to make the ADU Alumni Association one of the main leaders of the society." H.E. Ahmed Al Dhaheri added in his speech.
