In line with its strategy to be actively involved in furthering the educational process both locally and regionally, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) is to unveil its new campus offerings during their participation in the 18th Global Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) Dubai from April 12th to 14th, as well as the Gulf Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) Muscat, Oman, from April 18th to 20th- the leading educational and vocational training exhibitions in the region.
Abu Dhabi University will be unveiling for the first time to the public their new AED260 million campus, which will open fall 2006. The new campus will feature a main educational building covering a total area of 43,000m2 and includes a 630 seat auditorium; 8 shared laboratories; 8 non-shared laboratories; 4 semi-tiered classrooms; 50 classrooms; a food court area with 6 food outlets; a fully equipped medical clinic, as well as a general store, grocery store, laundry a post office/stationery shop. The project will accommodate both female and male departments, and will have wireless LAN connection throughout the building.
The University will also be introducing to trade visitors the Al Ain campus’s newly renovated women’s residence, as well as informing visitors of the newly launched and accredited Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
As well as being an exhibitor at GETEX Dubai, ADU’s very own Dean of Computer Science and Information Technology College will be one of the presenters discussing “Education in the IG3,” at a seminar on April 14th.
ADU’s participation in both exhibitions is a testament to its commitment of playing an active role as a leading educational force shaping the future of the region’s youth. “Taking part in the fairs will allow us present to prospective students in the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE all the advantages of earning a high-standard education in a respectable and specialized environment,” said HE Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, ADU Chairman of the Executive Board of Governors. “Over 100,000 pupils graduate from the Gulf’s secondary schools per annum, however, a large percentage of them are still choosing to study outside the region. Our presence at GETEX and GHEDEX will ensure that these students are fully aware of the benefits of studying in a top-quality institution,” he concluded.
GETEX
Abu Dhabi University will be publicly unveiling their new AED260 million campus for the first time in Dubai, and introducing their newly accredited Master of Business Administration program which will commence this June. Dr Jeffrey Robert Barker will represent ADU at one of the GETEX seminars during his lecture on “Education in the IG3”.
Dr Barker possesses over 35 years of experience; 18 years of academic experience to the level of Pro-vice chancellor; and over 10 years of senior management practice in industry specializing in information systems, manufacturing, supply chain management and business process reengineering. Barker is a consultant and key player in research activities such as E-Business strategy for IG3 (Information Generation 3), Education in IG3, and the design of “Dynamic Information” Systems (encompassing Real Time Enterprise) for IG3.
GHEDEX
Participating for the third time at the Gulf Higher Education Exhibition in Muscat, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) will be presenting for the first time in Oman their new campus project which is due to open this fall. The university will be emphasising on the renovated Al Ain campus female residence, and will also focus on communicating the standards of excellence in education, service and quality that ADU provides.
As a part of ADU’s continuing plan for growth, their participation at GETEX Dubai and GHEDEX Muscat for the third time respectively reflects the path that ADU is leading in its sector.
