Research reports suggest that total advertising spend in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) will recover at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 10 percent from 2009-2013 . The main focus would be internet advertising which is expected to grow at a high CAGR of 32 percent.

With Saudi Arabia’s GDP being pegged as the highest in the Arab region, the branding and communications industry is exploring new and effective mediums of communications.

“The Saudi market’s increasing competitiveness and changing dynamics have prompted organizations to reassess their marketing and communications strategies. The days of communicating ‘everything to everyone’ are over. It is necessary to build strong, long lasting brands targeted to specific audiences and carve a niche for the organization or product,” said Tarek Sultani, Managing Director, Siegel and Gale Middle East and speaker at the forthcoming Saudi Brand and Communications Summit 2010.

The first edition of the Summit will have an eminent speaker line up that includes brand guru, Vahid Mehrinfar, Patrick Jephson, former private secretary, HRH Diana,
Princess of Wales and Mohamed El Fatatry, CEO, Muxlim among others. The event will witness participation from over 150 participants across the region.

“Saudi Arabia’s GDP has been forecasted to grow at 4 percent for 2010. Companies are now evaluating new advertising mediums. The challenge ahead for the branding and communication industry is to innovate and excel,” said Praveen Balachandran, Senior Conference Director, IIR ME.

The Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the strategic partner for the four-day Summit. Sustainability and brand optimization would be discussed and debated by local and international speakers. The workshops will elucidate the power of branding in the Kingdom and successful implementation strategies.

The Saudi Brand and Communications Summit will be held from June 5th – 8th, 2010 at Hotel Marriott, Riyadh, KSA.
