At least four people were wounded Wednesday in an explosion in the west of the Afghan capital Kabul for which the Taliban claimed responsibility.
Dr Muhibullah Zir, the head of curative medicine of Kabul's hospitals, said the blast took place in front of Kabul Military School.
Other witnesses said the target might have been a spy agency building in the same area.
The injured were rushed to hospital. "Kabul ambulances have been put on alert," Zir said.
"We can hear gunfire. I think it is a coordinated attack," Abdul Ghafoor, a resident of western Kabul, told dpa.
Local news agency 1TV, citing police sources, said two attackers had entered the military school.
The explosion did not take place on Darulaman Road, near the parliament building, ministries and the American University, as news agency ToloNews said earlier.
