Afghan Drug Smuggler Beheaded in Saudi Arabia

An Afghan drug smuggler was beheaded by the sword in Saudi Arabia Monday, raising to at least 101 the number of executions announced in the kingdom since the start of this year, the interior ministry said. 

Dor Mohammad Qol was executed in the Red Sea city of Jeddah after being found guilty of trafficking drugs into the conservative Gulf state. 

Under a strict version of Islamic laws, Saudi Arabia imposes the death penalty on people found guilty of murder, rape, apostasy, armed robbery, drug trafficking and repeated drug offences – RIYADH (AFP)
