Afghan opposition commander Ahmad Shah Masood has died of wounds suffered in a suicide bomb attack last Sunday, a diplomat at the Afghan embassy in Moscow said Saturday.
Masood died late Friday in a hospital on Afghan territory, the diplomat told the Interfax news agency.
"Masood's health deteriorated suddenly and on Friday he fell into a coma," the diplomat said, without identifying himself.
The confirmation came shortly after an opposition diplomatic source in the Afghan embassy in the Tajikistan capital Dushanbe, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP that Masood had died -- MOSCOW (AFP)
