At least four children have been killed and two others wounded in a bomb explosion in the capital of western Farah province, an official said on Monday.
Deputy police chief, Col. Del Khan Jan Khakrezi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on Sunday afternoonwhen a bomb the children were playing with exploded in Karja area.
He said four children were killed and two others wounded in the explosion. The bomb had been planted in the area in the past, he added.
Farah Civil Hospital Director Abdul Hakim Rassouli said two of the children were killed immediately, a third died on the way to hospital and the fourth succumbed to his injuries while being treated.
Binyamin, a resident of Karja area, said: "The four children from our village were grazing animals when the incident happened."
