King Abdullah II of Jordan held talks in France Monday with Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, in their first meeting following a row between their countries.
"His Majesty met Sheikh Hamad in Paris tonight and during the meeting they discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two countries," according to Jordan's state television.
An Arab diplomat said the meeting was viewed positively by King Abdullah II, and that it "enabled a détente in bilateral relations."
"This meeting was limited to a discussion of bilateral relations, which had recently experienced a certain tension," AFP quoted the diplomat as saying. (Albawaba.com)
