Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Algiers on Tuesday outlined Iran's policies on regional and global developments. On issue of terrorism, he said, "Terrorism is the ugliest phenomenon which has roots in discrimination, pressure, occupation and trampling on rights of others, deviation from the lofty humanitarian values and mismanagement of certain powers who seek to meet their own interests by imposing their own policies on the world and plundering the wealth of other nations."
"Unfortunately, terrorism has roots in those governments who claim to be the vanguard in campaign against terrorism," he said.
The occupiers, under the slogan of campaign against terrorism, have occupied Iraq and promoted terrorism in the war-torn country, he said, according to IRNA.
He said that the Zionist regime is now committing the worst act of terrorism in suppressing women, children, the youth and the elderly.
Ahmadinejad said that both Iran and Algeria are the victims of terrorism and unfortunately the terrorists who won support of Iraqi occupiers have developed collusion with the US Congress.
On Iran's nuclear activities, he said Iran totally abides by international rules and regulations and is to retain its legitimate right.
On Iraq, he said Iran cannot remain indifferent towards the fate of Iraq and is to employ all its capabilities to help restore security in the war-torn country.
